Home plate for the Alabama Dixie Youth Baseball Division II State Tournament will once again have a Tuscaloosa zip code when the four-day event returns to Bowers Park from Thursday, July 7 to Sunday, July 10.

40 teams will converge on the Druid City from all across the state for the double elimination tournament. Winners will advance to the DYB World Series Tournament in Anderson, South Carolina.

In a statement, Tournament Director Dale Phillips said, “This is an exciting event for families and players. PARA does an outstanding job in hosting this event and helping further the DYB mission.”

This will be the 13th of 14 tournaments slated to use PARA’s facilities this summer.

Jay Logan, who serves as director of community outreach for the Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority, spoke of his organization’s many years hosting the event.

“In our sixth year of affiliation with DYB, PARA is in its fourth year of hosting the Alabama DYB Division II State Tournament. This speaks to our skill to create a one-of-a-kind baseball experience for hosting tournaments in our community,” he said in a statement.

An opening ceremony will be held at Field 5 on Thursday, July at 11 a.m. Teams will process, and tournament and local officials will give remarks.
