Wreck closes Highway 43 Tuesday morning
UPDATE: The northbound lane of Alabama Highway 43 is now open. Please continue using caution in the area.
A wreck between an 18-wheeler and a car on Alabama Highway 43 this morning caused road closures and massive delays for drivers about a mile north from Tuscaloosa County High School.
Both vehicles involved in the crash caught fire.
The Alabama Department of Transportation was putting down absorption materials around 8:30 a.m.
There’s no word on when the road will reopen, so consider alternate routes via Mitt Lary Road or Lary Lake Road.
No injuries have been reported.
