Can you imagine coming home to find your house riddled with bullet holes?

That was reality for one Tuscaloosa County woman this week.

Thankfully no one was at home at the time of the shooting, but if there has been ,this could be a much more tragic story.

Late Sunday night, when Carol Duncan got home from being out of town, she went straight to bed. but realized something wasn’t right when she woke up Monday morning and noticed small holes in the walls of her laundry room, garage and even above her bed in her bedroom.

Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators located 12 shell casings near and around Duncan’s home and recovered several bullets.

Duncan told WVUA 23 her dog Mia was inside for the entire incident, and is traumatized.

She tells us she has no idea why anyone would want to harm her or do this to her home.

“I was very angry because I felt like someone violated my property,” Duncan said. “I have not been scared like most people would have thought, but I have just been angry and disappointed that someone would do this to my property. Now, I will have to spend time repairing everything and footing the bill for all of the damages.”

If you have any information on this incident please call the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 205-752-0616.

They will be doing extra patrols in the Laurelwood area  following this shooting.
