WITH HOLIDAY SEASON UPON US, BREAK-INS WILL BECOME MORE PREVALENT

Reporting by WVUA 23’s Jordan Johnson.

With the holiday season here, the local police want citizens keep their valuables as safe and secure as possible.

The holidays are a great time for so many, but each year car break-ins become more frequent during this season.

“As we get closer to the holiday season, we do tend to have an increase in property crimes,” said Keith Carpenter, Northport Police Department’s Assistant Chief. “We just want to remind people if they have property in their vehicles, if they can, to take it inside. If it’s in the vehicles to make sure it’s not in plain sight and to make sure and to lock their vehicles when they’re not around.

Be sure to take precautions so you are less likely to become part of the statistic.
