West Alabama residents have one more place they can go for COVID-19 testing, as Maude Whatley Health Services started screening today.

Testing is by appointment only to give priority to those most in need. Screening will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. until the need diminishes.

“You know, to stop the spread, if you’re symptomatic, call our screener,” said Reginald Motley, chief medical officer at Whatley Health Services. “Or if you’re outside of this viewing area, get tested somewhere, wherever you are. If you have these symptoms, call us and we will do our best to get you in. Especially if you’re immunocompromised, age 65 and older or have co-morbidities.”

If you’d like to get tested, call 205-614-6240. You will first get screened for symptoms over the phone, and if the staff determines you need to get tested, they will give you an appointment.
