By WVUA 23 Reporter Maria Blough

West Alabama Works hosted an outreach event at the Aliceville Public Library today, offering job-seekers in Pickens County a look at potential future careers.

Employers like Indian Rivers Behavioral Health and colleges like Bevill State came out to connect the community with jobs and training.

Organizers with West Alabama Works also helped job seekers fill out online applications.

“Everybody is looking for a job,” said Frances Lewis, the director of Aliceville Public Library. “I feel passionate about helping young people, young adults, be able to find a career, so they can better themselves and help their families.”

Lewis hopes to host a similar event at local high schools in the future to help students with their next step.
