TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-  It’s fall, and that means the West Alabama State Fair. The fair begins Oct. 19 and runs through Oct. 23 at Sokol Park.

Admission is only $5 and parking is free, but coordinators are asking for a donation that all goes to a good cause.

You can see carnival rides, entertainment, a petting zoo, rodeo performance and all that fair food, including funnel cakes at the fair.

The fair is hosted by United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama, and all proceeds go to the organization. The fair is open Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 5 p.m. to close, Saturday from noon to close, and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

UCP Director of Development Randy Mecredy shared what this fair is about and how it helps the cause.

“The West Alabama State Fair is the signature fundraiser for the United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama and it helps us to offer programs and activities to people who have disabilities,” Mecredy said.

Full details regarding times, events and more are located on the West Alabama State Fair website.
