West Alabama Recycling receives $150,000 grant

The West Alabama Recycling Partnership — comprised of the city of Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority, the University of Alabama and Shelton State Community College — has received a grant of $159,000 from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.

This grant was made available through the Alabama Solid Wastes and Recyclable Materials Management Act and the funds will be used to support existing recycling services and expand recycling efforts throughout Tuscaloosa County.
