WEST ALABAMA FOOD BANK ASKING FOR HOLIDAY DONATIONS
By WVUA 23 Reporter Maria Blough
Thanksgiving is less than a week away, and the West Alabama Food Bank is in high gear focusing on those who need a little help getting dinner on the table.
The organization has been making deliveries across West Alabama with the help of their mobile food pantries, and they’re already thinking about spreading Christmas cheer after turkey day is over.
“We’ve already distributed everything that we will for Thanksgiving, since really the beginning of November,” said West Alabama Food Bank Executive Director Jean Rykaczewski. “We’ve been taking four mobile pantries into the nine counties every week, and we will continue that through Christmas.”
If you’re interested in donating food, you can bring donations to 3160 McFarland Blvd. in Northport from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday or from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday.
Monetary donations can be made right here.
