Tuesday was the start of new jobs for West Alabama’s growing automotive industry.
German-based automotive technology company Mollertech hosted a ribbon cutting in celebration of opening theri $46.4 million manufacturing plant in Woodstock.
The plant will manufacture interior parts for the next generation of Mercedes-Benz SUVs.
Mollertech’s President and CEO of American Operations Steve Jordan said there’s no better place for their facility than West Alabama.
“We’ve had a wonderful feeling coming into Bibb County and the local people have been so friendly, so inquisitive, so helpful,” he said. “We have even started working with schools already, so it is a great feeling. It’s good to be able to employ people from a rural area.”
