Average gas prices in Alabama remained unchanged from the week before, averaging $2.99 a gallon as of Monday, according to GasBuddy‘s survey of 3,348 gas stations in Alabama.

Prices are 19.1 cents lower than this time last month and a whopping 92.6 cents lower than this time last year.

Nationally, prices rose 3.5 cents a gallon, to an average of $3.36 a gallon as of Monday. Diesel prices fell 4.6 cents over the past week, to an average of $4.34 a gallon.

“The national average rose last week as the transition to summer gasoline has now started across the entire country. The higher cost of these various blends is being passed along to motorists, as we see every year ahead of the summer driving season,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Some regions are moving to the required summer gasoline in different steps then others, and the fragmentation of required blends absolutely plays a role in these price increases. While we may not see weekly increases, the overall trend will remain upward through much of the spring.”

According to GasBuddy price reports:

  • The most expensive gas station in Alabama was priced at $3.49 a gallon as of Sunday.
