The average price of a gallon of gas in Alabama rose 5.4 cents over the past week, up to an average of $3.41 as of Monday, according to GasBuddy‘s survey of 3,348 gas stations in Alabama.
That’s 2.6 cents lower than this time last month and 19.5 cents higher than this time last year.
Nationally, prices rose 4.6 cents a gallon over the past week, up to an average of $3.83 as of Monday. The national average price of diesel rose 9.9 cents over the past week, up to an average of $4.43 a gallon.
“The national average rose slightly over the last week due to continued refinery challenges in the western U.S. that have pulled gas prices up considerably in some states, while some 1 in 5 states have seen average gasoline prices decline in the last week,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “With the transition back to cheaper winter gasoline now upon us in nearly every state, we should see prices eventually cooling back off.”
According to GasBuddy price reports:

- The most expensive gas station in Alabama was priced at $3.92 a gallon as of Sunday
