Gas prices in Alabama rose about 5 cents per gallon over the past week, bringing the state up to an average of $3.10 a gallon, according to GasBuddy‘s survey of 3,348 gas stations in Alabama.

Prices in Alabama are 11.1 cents higher than this time last month but 89.1 cents per gallon lower than this time last year.

Nationally, the average price of gas fell 0.3 cents per gallon over the past week, to an average of $3.40. The national average price of diesel fell 5.9 cents in the last week and stands at $4.19 per gallon.

“The national average price of gasoline has seen little overall change over the last week, with big decreases in states like Colorado and Ohio offset by large increases in Arizona and North Carolina” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Motorists in some areas may be on the receiving end of good news, while others may not as we hit the second half of refinery maintenance season. You never know what the closing moments will look like, and motorists could be in for a dramatic ride if issues develop.”

According to GasBuddy price reports:

  • The cheapest station in Alabama was priced at $2.83 a gallon as of Sunday
  • The most expensive station in Alabama was priced at $3.79 a gallon as of Sunday
