WEEKEND CRASH KILLS 1, INJURES 6 IN SELMA

A fatal three-car accident killed a Selma woman, and left six others injured on Sunday afternoon. The wreck occurred around 1 p.m. on the Alabama Highway 5, five miles south of Safford.

According to Senior Trooper Reginal King, Ora Dee Whitt, 69, was killed after the 2006 Chevrolet Express van she was riding in collided with a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by David Edward Dukes, 57. After the initial collision, a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado crashed into those vehicles.

Whitt, the van’s driver, Arthur Lee Brown, 79, and five additional passengers from the van were transported to Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma.

Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate the accident. No other details are available at this time.
