WALKER COUNTY GATHERS TO REMEMBER LIVES LOST, FIRST RESPONDERS

Walker County

Walker County residents and first responders gathered Wednesday to honor and remember one of the community’s most tragic events.

Two years ago on June 12, 2017, a flash fire at Carl Cannon car dealership took the lives of three employees. The dealership hosted an event to honor those who lost their lives, as well as the first responders who put their lives on the line every day to protect the community.

“[We’re] so appreciative of Carl Cannon and the staff here and what they do for us. This coming together and kind of remembering a sad day that we had in our community but not letting that be the final chapter of it,” said Deputy Chief and Fire Marshal Alan Clark. “To remember the first responders, the fire, the police, the local guys, men and women that come out during these times.”
