Hurricane Laura made landfall on Aug. 28, leaving many in Texas and Louisiana without the essentials for the foreseeable future.

American Red Cross, along with volunteers throughout the country, immediately made the trek to areas affected most by Hurricane Laura. Although the hurricane diminished in severity before landfall, it left thousands without homes, water and way of life.

“We want to make sure everybody has a safe place to stay,” American Red Cross representative Misty Moon said.

Hurricane Laura’s death toll is 15.

To help the efforts, American Red Cross asks for donations of time, money and blood in order to make reparations to the victims.
