Organizers are hosting the 50th annual Kentuck Festival of the Arts and are in need of 700-plus volunteers.
The festival is a two-day event at Kentuck Park in Northport Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Kentuck is looking for volunteers to help with the event. Anyone who volunteers for three or more hours will be rewarded with a free ticket to the festival.
Volunteer shifts begin now and continue through the end of the event.
“We rely on all sorts of community support to make the Kentuck Festival happen every year, and our volunteers are a huge component of that,” said Amy Echols, Kentuck Art Center Executive Director. “I cannot overstate the importance of our volunteers! Our community is the reason Kentuck is able to celebrate its 50th anniversary.”
Pre-festival tasks consist of park setup, material transportation, envelope stuffing and miscellaneous office work.
Tasks during the festival include assisting in children’s activities, ticket taking, helping with the merchandising tent, cleanup and site breakdown.
