Victim identified in fatal Thursday night crash

Tuscaloosa Police are still investigating a fatal crash that happened just after 8 p.m. Thursday.

Officers were called to the area just west of the University Boulevard-17th Avenue intersection, where 56-year-old James Darrin Spencer died from injuries he sustained in the wreck. Spencer was riding a motorcycle, and the wreck was originally reported as a potential hit-and-run.

That section of University Boulevard near the crash site remained closed until 1 a.m.
