VETERANS DAY 2015
Veterans Day symbolizes the American devotion to military service.
In 1926, the United States congress officially recognized the end of WWI and declared that the anniversary of the armistice should be commemorated with prayer and thanksgiving.
Family members, community leaders, veterans and active duty military filled Veterans Memorial Park Wednesday in Tuscaloosa for the annual Veterans Day program.
During the ceremony, a Gordo native, Colonel Charles Davis, was honored with a plaque for his Congressional Medal of Honor. His son, Kirk Davis, says this day is a reaffirmation of the heroic service by many.
