VA MEDICAL CENTER BUILDING COTTAGES HOUSING ROUND-THE-CLOCK CARE

Veterans in need of 24-hour care will soon have a place to receive it at the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Two new community cottages being constructed on this medical center’s campus will house 30 patients in need of round-the-clock care. The buildings — one housing 10 beds and the other housing 20 — come equipped with private bedrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen and dining room, living room and a laundry facility.

VA Public Affairs Officer Damon Stevenson said the addition will offer local veterans high-quality care.

The 10-bed cottage is scheduled for completion in October, and the 20-bed cottage should be complete by May 2017.
