UPDATE: Pedestrian struck Thursday dies of injuries

A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle on Jack Warner Parkway Thursday evening has died of her injuries, Tuscaloosa Police said Saturday.

The 45-year-old woman has been identified as Charlotte Wallin of Imperial, Nebraska.

Wallin was walking west on Jack Warner Parkway just before 7 p.m. when a driver heading east apparently lost control of their vehicle and drove onto the sidewalk between Marrs Spring Road and Hackberry Lane, hitting Wallin.

Wallin was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

She was taken off life support just after 5 p.m. Friday.

The driver, a 30-year-old woman from Tuscaloosa, remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
