University of Alabama’s COVID Numbers Nearly Doubled In 3 Days

COVID-19 is making itself comfortable on the University of Alabama campus, nearly doubling its numbers in three days.
Between Aug. 19 and Aug. 24, the University of Alabama had 562 students test positive through the university’s testing. Before Aug. 19, 158 tested positive. Between Aug. 25 and Aug. 27, 481 more students tested positive, bringing the number of UA students who have tested positive for COVID-19 to 1,201.
Faculty and staff have a total of nine positives that have been reported to the university between Aug. 19 and Aug. 27, and 157 positives before Aug. 19 for a total of 166.
According to the University of Alabama System COVID-19 Dashboard, UA’s quarantine space is 36.09% full.
In comparison, the University of Alabama at Birmingham has had 10 students and 12 faculty and staff members test positive between Aug. 19 and Aug. 27. At UAB Clinical Enterprise, 60 employees have tested positive between Aug. 19 and Aug. 27.
