UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA TO REQUIRE COVID-19 TESTING FOR STUDENTS, FACULTY, STAFF
By WVUA 23 Contributor Daniel Pinheiro
The University of Alabama will conduct free COVID-19 tests for all UA faculty, staff and students before returning for the fall semester.
The university will also randomly test for COVID-19 throughout the semester free of charge.
Along with testing, all students, faculty and staff will have to finish a brief online training course about COVID-19 and ways to lessen the risks of infection. They will also have to fill out the online UA Healthcheck symptom assessment tool regularly.
The university’s current plans will have most fall classes conducted in-person. Classroom alterations and the shifting of classes to bigger rooms so students can distance more easily are a few of the university’s strategies to ensure maximum safety for students attending in-person lectures.
