University of Alabama Making Admission Test Scores Optional

Prospective students for the University of Alabama just might have less to worry about during the application process.
UA recently announced it will not be requiring college admission test scores for the 2021 school year.
The university decided on this new policy during the wake of the coronavirus pandemic as students were unable to reach testing facilities. Matt McLendon, executive director of student enrollment, strongly encourages students to take advantage of this.
“Please apply,” said McLendon. “The application is open. You can find it at gobama.edu or our main website. That’s the most important part of admission.”
Whether a student choses to submit a score or not, it will not put them at an advantage or disadvantage. All other areas of the application will be looked at more closely, such as a student’s high school GPA.
Standardized test scores will also be optional for students applying for scholarships. To be considered for test-optional scholarships, students must submit a scholarship application, which can be found in their myBama portal after they are admitted.
