Miracle League Christmas

Story by WVUA 23’s Aajene Robinson.

The University of Alabama’s Theta Chi Fraternity and Chi Omega Sorority hosted a Miracle League Christmas party on Sunday afternoon for special needs kids and adults of all ages.

The party was at the Theta Chi Fraternity house. Along with a craft room, Big AL and Santa Claus were around for children to take pictures with. Santa also handed out gifts.

Annabel Roth, former chapter President of Chi Omega, said that this event means so much to Chi Omega and Theta Chi because philanthropy is a pillar of their organizations.

“It’s really special that during this season we can get members of the community whether it’s the Greek community or the Tuscaloosa community together to celebrate these special kids and all the great things that they do with Miracle League,” Roth said.

A lot of people from the Tuscaloosa area came out to the Miracle League Christmas party with their families for a fun-filled day.

Brett Cruce, a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity, said this event means a lot to him because he has been helping with this organization for a year and a half now.

“To see the growth that these kids have had is such a great thing to see. It gives me joy and it gives everyone helping out with the event joy,” Cruce said.
