The University of Alabama Dance Marathon raised $307,843 over the course of the last year for Children’s of Alabama, which is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Birmingham. The campus organization’s efforts culminated in BAMAthon, a 13.1-hour dance marathon that took place in the Ferguson Student Center on Saturday.

“UADM is a special organization full of people who are going to change this world,” Klootwyk, the president of UADM 2020, said in a press release. “We’ve accomplished nothing alone and everything together.”

The total amount raised was unveiled at the end of BAMAthon.

Over UADM’s nine-year history, the organization has raised more than $1.6 million for Children’s of Alabama.

The largest student organization and philanthropy organization on campus, UADM has more than 200 staff members who worked hard to fundraise throughout the year.
