UA SORORITY RAISES MONEY FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SURVIVORS WITH 5K

Alpha Chi Omega sorority held a 5K race Sunday morning to support Turning Point Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services.

People came out to participate in the race with all proceeds going to Turning Point. Organizers said this event means a lot to Turning Point and those who participated.

“With this impacting one in four women, with us having a chapter of 450 girls, that impacts at least 100 of us so this event really drives home how special this is and how we truly are making a difference,” Lacey Beasley, Alpha Chi Omega’s philanthropy chair, said. “As of right now we have already raised close to $13,000 and we have probably exceeded that since on-site registration is happening.”
