TWO BUSINESSES GRADUATE FROM EDGE PROGRAM THURSDAY

The Edge

Two West Alabama businesses celebrated their graduation from The Edge entrepreneurship program Thursday.

The Edge Center in Tuscaloosa is a resource for anyone with business ideas and plans who want help with any stage of their project.

“We start from, ‘I’ve got a business and I’m trying to grow the business,’ to ‘I’ve got an idea and is this an idea I should pursue,’ ” said The Edge’s Bobby Bragg.

Ugo Convenience Delivery and SWJ Breilman have both expanded exponentially since their inception.

SWJ is an engineering, planning and project committee opening its headquarters in Tuscaloosa soon.

Ugo is a service started by University of Alabama students offering home-delivered grocery and convenience items around Tuscaloosa. Their success relies on their unique business plan. Instead of personal shoppers, their inventory is housed in a warehouse, which means deliveries happen in as little as 10 minutes.

The Edge Entrepreneurship Center is run by the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.
