TWO ARRESTED IN SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA BUST

Two men are behind bars today over charges they were trafficking synthetic marijuana.

The West Alabama Narcotics Task Force said they concluded a two-month investigation with a raid at the Key Discount Store at the corner of Hargrove Road and Second Avenue East.

During a search at the business, agents said they recovered 2,000 4-gram packs of synthetic marijuana worth about $160,000 and nearly $25,000 in cash.

Naseer Al-Labani and Mahfoodh Alawadi were arrested and charged with trafficking in synthetic marijuana. Al-Labani was also charged with four counts of unlawful distribution of synthetic marijuana.

Al-Labani is facing a $1.6 million bond, and Alawadi is facing a $1.5 million bond.
