TUSCALOOSANS PROTEST ANIMAL ABUSE

Tuscaloosans banded together this morning at City Hall to protest animal abuse.

It comes less than a week after video surfaced of an alleged University of Alabama student beating a cat with a belt. Police say the cat is no longer in danger, and that they are investigating the situation.

Police say they’ll address the cat abuse video, along with several videos over the weekend taken of Tuscaloosa police officers tasing and hitting a resident after an alleged noise complaint, at a 2 p.m. news conference today.
