The Tuscaloosa YMCA is inspiring kids to keep their minds and bodies active this summer.

This is all part of the Y’s national campaign to improve health and well being for kids and families.

Saturday’s Healthy Kids Day featured activities such as games, healthy cooking demonstrations and arts and crafts.

“It starts when you’re a kid, so the more they expose to healthy food when they’re younger they will actually start making decisions on their own. They will already know that eating a apple is better than eating a snicker bar,” said Ken Hill, wellness Director.

Healthy Kids Day is a national campaign at every YMCA.

This is the first time an event was held in Tuscaloosa.
