TUSCALOOSA – C-SPAN is coming to town next week.

The cable channel is visiting to record and feature Tuscaloosa’s history and literary life for future airing as part of its C-SPAN Cities Tour.

On Monday at 11:30 a.m., Mayor Walt Maddox is hosting the channel at the Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion, where C-SPAN representatives will reveal the stories and segments they’ll be working on during their stay in Tuscaloosa.

Representatives will be in town from Friday to Wednesday. Local segments they film will air on non-fiction book channel Book TV and history channel American History TV during C-SPAN’s Tuscaloosa weekend April 16 and 17.

This weekend, the channels are featuring Montgomery as part of the same series.
