Tuscaloosa votes down Dollar General liquor license

The Tuscaloosa City Council opted against allowing two Dollar General stores a liquor license at Tuesday’s council meeting.

The stores applying for the license were the Dollar General in McFarland Plaza next to Michael’s and the Dollar General on Old Greensboro Road off Alabama Highway 69 South.

Council members said they denied the request over public safety concerns.
