TUSCALOOSA – A truck filled with water and other goodies has taken off from its loading location and is now on its way to Flint, Michigan.
Donations come from residents and organizations across West Alabama, and the truck is being driven by organizers from the Urban Progressive Party. Organizers say the truck will be rolling into Michigan by Saturday morning.
More than 700 cases and jugs of bottled water was gathered at New Vision Baptist Church for the delivery.
Organizer Stepfon Lewis said Thursday that it’s all about paying it forward after all the help Tuscaloosa got in the wake of the April 27, 2011, tornado.
