TUSCALOOSA SUSPENDING CURBSIDE RECYCLING AGAIN
Effective today, the city of Tuscaloosa has temporarily suspended curbside recycling services.
The city has seen a dramatic increase in the amount of trash for curbside pickup in 2020, nearly doubling the volume of trash collected in the last three months compared to this time in 2019.
Workers will be temporarily reassigned from recycling routes to trash routes to help handle the additional garbage.
Residents can still drop off their recyclables at designated recycling drop-off sites.
Additionally, the city is setting up manned drop-off points at different locations across Tuscaloosa from Monday through Thursday at 8 p.m. until 4 p.m to accommodate residents who want to recycle.
