The Tuscaloosa City School System teamed up with the Tuscaloosa Parks and Recreation Authority to introduce non traditional sports to underserved students.

Students can visit various facilities in the Tuscaloosa area to learn sports such as golf, tennis, swimming and soccer.

Anthony Harris from the Tuscaloosa City School System said it’s a great partnership.

This is part of the The National Medical Alliance.

“We also partnered with (PARA) with a curriculum so those students at a very young age get to learn the skills and develop a skillset,” he said.

The schools receiving the new curriculum include Westlawn Middle School, Woodland Forest Elementary, Martian Luther King Elementary, Verner Elementary, Southview Elementary and the Alberta School of Performing Arts.
