Tuscaloosa Public Library

All Tuscaloosa Public Library locations will close March 16-22 to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“TPL made this choice to support the overall health and wellness of Tuscaloosa City and County and for the safety of our patrons and staff,” Vince Bellofatto, director of communications and public relations for TPL, said in a press release. “It was a very tough decision, as TPL is passionate about serving the public, but the smart thing to do, and the best way to serve our community now, is to help avert the spread of COVID-19.”

The press release read that Sunday, March 15 will be the last day that patrons can pick up holds or borrow books until library locations reopen. For those whose library cards will expire during the closure, those cards will remain active until May 1, 2020. Online resources will remain available throughout the closure.
