The Tuscaloosa Public Library is ready to kick off their 2016 summer reading program, and there’s still plenty of time for signing up.

This year’s theme is “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!”, exploring all things exercise, with a focus on health and fitness awareness.

But the library offers so much more than the summer reading program, with weekly events including guests and performers ranging from musicians to magicians and more.

Associate Director of Youth and Community Services Pamela Williamson said the best part is that everything the library offers is free.

“Summer can be very expensive, but everything here at the library is free to come to,” she said. “We do spend a lot of time making sure that we have quality programs that offer the children something to learn in the summer, but at the same time where they can have fun and they can have fun as a family.”

The summer reading program runs from May 31 to July 29. For more information, visit Tuscaloosa Public Library online.
