UPDATE: Man charged in today’s shooting out on bond in Thanksgiving assault case

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says the man accused of shooting a woman early this morning is facing multiple charges and at the time of the shooting was out on bail for another domestic violence incident.
The shooting happened around 7 a.m. at Forrester Gardens apartments. The victim, a 40-year-old woman, was shot several times. She was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center, where she remains in serious condition.
TVCU said the shooting happened in a parking lot, was witnessed by several people and was also captured on video.
The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Pasha Darget, ran off before officers arrived at the scene but was located by Tuscaloosa Police a short time later.
Darget has been charged with the following:
- Attempted murder
- Shooting into an occupied vehicle
- Prohibited person in possession of a firearm
Darget was out on bond from the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a second-degree assault/third-degree domestic violence charge in which he was arrested on Nov. 25. His bond was revoked.
TVCU said those charges involved the victim from today’s case and another family member.
Tuscaloosa Police say a man is in custody in the wake of an early-morning shooting.
Holy Spirit School was briefly placed on lockdown during the search, but the lockdown has since been lifted.
Police said the incident appears to be domestic, but more information will be released later today.
Tuscaloosa Police are investigating after a shooting early this morning at Forrester Gardens on James I. Harrison Parkway.
Police said the call came in just before 7 a.m., and a 40-year-old woman was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound.
A suspect is currently being sought, TPD said, and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is taking over the investigation.
