TUSCALOOSA POLICE DEPARTMENT CLOSES SEVERAL PRECINCTS TO KEEP CORONAVIRUS AT BAY
The Tuscaloosa Police Department has temporarily closed three of its precincts to the public in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
Closing the precincts will help limit officers to potential exposure of COVID-19 and will increase the number of patrol officers, according to the city.
“They are disinfecting and sanitizing their cars, they’re making sure they’re using universal precautions of washing their hands,” said Police Lt. Teena Richardson. “Every time they come in contact with anyone in the public, our officers’ safety as well as their families’ safety is very important.”
If you need to file a report, you can visit the Tuscaloosa Police Department’s temporary headquarters on Hargrove Road, or call 205-349-2121 and a police officer can meet you in the parking lot of a closed precinct to take your report.
