TUSCALOOSA POLICE CHARGE MAN ACCUSED OF RAPE TUESDAY

Tuscaloosa Police say they’ve arrested a man accused of raping a woman in her apartment bedroom on Tuesday.

The victim, 22, told investigators she was raped by Tracy Dawson, 29, after he came into the room she was sleeping in at her apartment. The victim said she fled her apartment and went downstairs to a common area, where she told her friend she’d just been raped. The victim said her friend confronted Dawson, and the two of them got into a fight.

Other witnesses said they were downstairs at the common area and pool when the confrontation happened, and said the victim came downstairs upset and told them Dawson had just raped her.

Dawson was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, and was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
