One Place

Tuscaloosa One Place celebrated its 20th anniversary Thursday afternoon. Known as “TOP,” Tuscaloosa One Place is a nonprofit organization that serves more than 8,000 Tuscaloosa residents through a variety of different programs.

TOP celebrated its anniversary with bouncy houses, face painting and a petting zoo.

“So, [at]Tuscaloosa’s one place, everything that we do revolves around family,” said TOP Director Amanda Lightsey. “We believe there’s power in the family. We offer after-school programs, we offer classes for parents, we have a juvenile reentry program, we offer crisis services. People come in and they need food, clothes and shelter. They just really don’t know what to do. We sit down and we talk with them and direct them the right way.”
