Tuscaloosa NAACP teams up with PARA for Juneteenth celebration Saturday

The Tuscaloosa branch of the NAACP and Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority are teaming up for a Juneteenth celebration Saturday at Palmore Park.
Events begin with the second annual Juneteenth parade at 10 a.m., featuring grand marshals include Rev. David Gay, Lillie Leatherwood and Dr. Joqueline Richardson. The parade route begins at Westlawn Middle School, travels along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and ends at the McDonald Hughes Community Center.
After the parade, WVUA 23 News’ Tamika Alexander and Jabaree Prewitt are kicking off festivities lasting from noon to 6 p.m. at the nearby Palmore Park, located at 3701 Fosters Ferry Road in Tuscaloosa.
The celebration at Palmore Park will feature live music, food trucks, children’s activities, vendors and more.
