TUSCALOOSA MAYOR WALT MADDOX PRESENTS HIS 2017 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET TO CITY COUNCIL

During Tuesday’s Tuscaloosa City Council Meeting, Mayor Walt Maddox presented his proposed $197 million Operating Budget.

Mayor Maddox says since 2005, nearly 16,000 people have moved to the City Of Tuscaloosa.

Also in this budget, 45 percent of the funds are invested in Public Safety.

“The City Of Tuscaloosa has prospered in the last decade and we’re grown quite a bit. I think it’s 18 percent of the population over the last ten years. So naturally the budget would increase as well” says District Three Tuscaloosa City Councilwoman Cynthia Almond.

The council will meet every Tuesday in September to review all of the Mayor’s recommendations.

The council will vote September 27th.
