TUSCALOOSA MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR USING HIDDEN CAMERAS TO FILM UNDERAGE CHILD
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – Prosecutors say a federal judge has sentenced a man to 10 years in prison for inducing a child to engage in sexual activity.
U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance says U.S. District Judge Virginia Emerson Hopkins sentenced 49-year-old Earl Wayne Babin of Tuscaloosa on Wednesday. Babin pleaded guilty to coercion and enticement charges in July.
Vance says Babin admitted that he used hidden cameras and provided lingerie for the child, then sent text messages urging her to try on the undergarments so he could produce visual images. Vance says Babin conducted the between July 2012 and March 2014 when the child was less than 16 years old.
The judge ordered Babin to remain on supervised release for 15 years once he completes his prison sentence.
