TUSCALOOSA MAGNET STUDENTS HIGHLIGHT SOCIAL ISSUES

Tuscaloosa Magnet

Fifth-graders at Tuscaloosa Magnet Elementary showed off the fruits of their yearlong labor with a social issues project exhibition on Wednesday.

It’s part of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years program. It servers as the culmination of the students’ learning and growth through the program.

It’s a way for students to take action in their communities by researching solutions or raising awareness about real-world problems.

“I think that exhibition really helps the students become aware of what’s going on in the world and what they can do even as a 10- or 11-year-old,” said fifth-grade teacher Calli Jones.
