There will be a joint litter clean-up between Districts 6 and 7 this Saturday, Oct. 30 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

All participating volunteers will receive litter bags, grabbers and safety vests at check-in.

District 7 City Council Member Cassius Lanier said it takes a lot of effort to keep the community clean, but it’s important for residents to take part.

“Our districts are clean and safe and it’s going to take community efforts along with city leaders,” said Lanier. “If we start with the small things when it comes to a big decision being made, I think we can include the community as well as leaders and I think it’s very important moving forward.”

At the end of the event, the Environmental Services Dept. will weigh the litter collected in each district to see who collected the most.

District 6 check-in will be at Righteous Cutz, located off Hargrove Road East and District 7 check-in is at Lanier Automotive off Skyland Boulevard.
