TUSCALOOSA COUNTY TAKES OVER MAINTENANCE OF MARLEY ROAD

Marley Road

The Tuscaloosa County Commission said it has now taken over the maintenance of Marley Road.

According to the Commissioners, about a dozen homes line the road, which has been private for the past 25 years. Commissioners also said residents are no longer able or willing to keep the road maintained.

“Well, it’s going to mean a lot in the future as we bring the road on up to a good county standard,” Tuscaloosa County Commissioner Jerry Tingle said. “Get rid of a lot of dust and mud. In the wintertime, we can pretty much immediately can take care of that.”

The Commission plans to use the same, new procedures to take over maintenance of other private roads in the future.
