TUSCALOOSA COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM SUPERINTENDENT, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER ARE RETIRING
The Tuscaloosa County School System today announced Superintendent Walter Davie and Chief School Financial Officer Danny Higdon are planning on retiring this year.
Davie is retiring May 31, and Higdon is retiring March 31.
“There’s never a perfect time for this transition, but when I think about the needs and direction of the school system, this is a good time for the next superintendent to step into this role and begin laying the groundwork for the future,” Davie said in a statement.
Davie was named acting superintendent in August 2015, and was officially given the job in December of that year.
Higdon has been the system’s chief financial officer since July 5, 2005.
