The Tuscaloosa County School System has released information on students and faculty who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The superintendent’s office revealed in an email last week that out of the 19,000 students in the school system, 29 have tested positive for the virus.

In the last two weeks, a total of 308 students have been asked to self-quarantine. The majority of these students comes from Brookwood High School, due to possible exposure.

Not just the students have been affected by the pandemic. Since Aug. 12, 43 TCSS employees have experienced possible exposure to the virus. However, less than 10 have reported COVID-positive test results.

District-wide, about 65 percent of students are physically attending class, with some schools having up to 80 percent in-person capacity.
